What is Ford Home Backup Power?
Making its debut in the Ford F-150 Lightning™, Ford Home Backup Power, a form of bi-directional power, turns your pickup truck into the ultimate backup generator for your house by automatically powering your home when connected to the 80-amp Ford Charge Station Prom that can be linked to your home's electrical box.
It can also help mitigate the effects of scheduled outages or rolling blackouts, powering your home even as your house goes off the grid. If your F-150 Lightning is plugged in when an outage occurs, Ford Home Backup Power automatically kicks in to power your home with up to 9.6-kilowatts of energy for three days, or up to 10 if usage is properly rationed. When power is restored, your truck will automatically revert to its planned charge schedule.
